General Dentistry Services

General dentistry is the foundation of oral health care. These services provide preventive, diagnostic, and restorative care for patients of all ages. They cover many treatments, such as dental exams, teeth cleaning, fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, root canals, and more.
General dentistry is designed to help maintain your oral health and prevent future problems from developing. Regular visits to a dentist can help detect issues early on that can be treated before they become more serious. It is essential to visit your Indianapolis dentist regularly to ensure that your teeth and gums remain healthy and strong.

Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry is a specialized branch of dental care dedicated to children's oral health performed by a pediatric dentist. It is important that parents schedule their children's first dental appointment when they get their first tooth or by age one to maintain their dental well-being throughout childhood. Dr. Ross Bowen excels as a dentist with pediatric oral care experience, specializing in the distinctive oral needs of children. He offers preventive care, addresses potential issues, and imparts valuable guidance on maintaining strong, healthy teeth through proper oral hygiene and diet for your child's long-term oral well-being.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is a branch of dentistry that focuses on restoring teeth to their original form, function, and aesthetics. It is a preventive and corrective approach that helps maintain the health of teeth and gums. It includes procedures such as crowns, fillings, bridges, implants, veneers, and root canals. It also involves preventive measures like sealants and fluoride treatments. Restorative dentists use advanced technology such as digital X-rays, lasers, and 3D imaging systems to diagnose problems accurately and provide effective treatment solutions. With restorative dentistry, patients can restore their smiles with natural-looking results that are comfortable and durable.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are prosthetic devices used to replace multiple missing teeth and restore chewing function and your smile. They are a permanent, pain-free solution that can last for many years. A bridge consists of two or more crowns placed on the teeth on either side of the gap, with an artificial tooth between them. The bridge is cemented onto the existing teeth, providing a strong and secure fit.

Dental bridges can replace one tooth or a row of missing teeth. They can also fill gaps caused by tooth decay or injury. Bridges offer several advantages over traditional dentures, such as improved aesthetics, speech, chewing and eating ability, and oral health.

Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns

Custom-made porcelain dental crowns are an excellent solution for restoring teeth with the best esthetic results.

Dental crowns are a popular dental treatment to restore a tooth's function and appearance. They are custom-made caps that fit over the entire visible portion of damaged, decayed, or broken teeth, providing strength, stability, and protection. Crowns can be made from porcelain, metal alloys, or a combination of materials. They can also anchor bridges or dentures in place and protect weak teeth from further damage. When properly cared for, dental crowns can last for many years.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a popular and effective solution for replacing missing teeth. They are designed to look, feel, and function like natural teeth, making them an excellent choice for those who want to restore their smile and improve their oral health.

Dental implants consist of three parts: the implant, the abutment, and the crown. The implant is a small titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone to create a strong and stable foundation. The abutment is then attached to the implant, and the crown is placed on top of the abutment to create a natural-looking tooth.

Full Dentures & Partial Dentures

Full Dentures & Partial Dentures

Dentures are dental prosthetics designed to replace missing teeth and restore your ability to chew, speak, and smile confidently. There are two main types of dentures: full and partial dentures. Here's what you need to know about each type:

Full dentures, or complete dentures, replace all teeth in the upper or lower jaw or both. They are typically made of a gum-colored acrylic base that fits over the gums and a set of artificial teeth attached to the base. Full dentures are held in place by suction and may be secured with denture adhesive.

Partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw while preserving the remaining natural teeth. They are typically made of a metal framework that attaches to the remaining natural teeth and a gum-colored acrylic base that supports the artificial teeth. Partial dentures may also be secured with clasps that attach to the natural teeth.

Extractions & Oral Surgery

Extractions and oral surgery are standard procedures performed by dentists and specialists to treat various dental problems. Extractions are performed to remove a tooth causing pain, infection, or overcrowding. Sometimes, a tooth may also need to be extracted to make room for orthodontic treatment. The procedure is generally quick and straightforward, with the dentist numbing the area around the tooth before gently removing it. Oral surgery encompasses a range of procedures on the teeth, gums, jaw, or oral and facial structures, including teeth extractions, dental bone grafts, periodontal grafts, and corrective jaw surgery.

Botox & Xeomin

Dental Botox and Xeomin are non-invasive treatments that can help alleviate pain and discomfort associated with certain dental conditions. These treatments utilize a neurotoxin that temporarily paralyzes muscles to relax the muscles in the jaw and alleviate tension. Dental Botox and Xeomin are often used to treat conditions such as TMJ disorder and bruxism (teeth grinding) and even to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. By relaxing the muscles in the jaw, patients can experience relief from jaw pain, headaches, and other symptoms associated with these conditions.

Hygiene & Periodontal Health

Maintaining good oral hygiene is essential to prevent periodontal or gum disease. Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that affects the gums and the bones supporting the teeth. It is caused by the accumulation of plaque, a sticky film of bacteria that builds up on teeth over time. If left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss and other serious health problems. To prevent periodontal disease, practicing good oral hygiene habits such as brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing daily is essential. Additionally, regular visits to the dental office for professional cleanings can help remove plaque and tartar buildup from hard-to-reach areas, reducing the risk of gum disease.

Dr. Magnus and her team were wonderful with my daughter when she had a recent dental emergency. She was taken care of quickly and is already on the road to recovery. While she isn't usually a fan of going to the dentist, she said it was a great experience despite the circumstances. She really liked Dr. Magnus's collaborative and patient-centered approach to dental care.
